Fall 2009

We have had another busy fall (I am pretty sure we are always busy, regardless of the season). Mady has been playing competition soccer and started seventh grade, Davin is playing on a rec league and started fifth grade, Sophia is taking jazz and ballet and started first grade and Harrison started pre-school and is taking karate lessons. Shane is very busy at work these days (Omniture is in the middle of being acquired by Adobe) and has been traveling, and I spend my days behind the wheel, managing all the kids activities. I didn't sign up for classes this fall because we thought we would be moving to London next summer (that was before the acquistion) but it has worked out well with all that has been going on. We try to escape for a hike or outdoor adventure whenever we get a free minute. Life is good.
Finally, I think I am there. I am ready to join the world of blogging mothers everywhere. I am inspired by my neighbors and friends who (religiously) post on their blogs- it is a modern day mothers effort to journalize their families. I hope I can do it justice.

The Koller Family

It is a little late in the game to go back and try to catch up on my families life- every day something happens and our life continues to evolve. I guess you have to start somewhere. This trip is a good place to start. After much planning, we took the kids last October to a long awaited vacation to California. We did all the sites in San Diego and then spent four days in Anaheim doing the beach and Disneyland. Having our kids in such an age range was difficult at times, but this trip really brought us all together. The Disney magic caught on and we had the time of our lives. We constantly talk about the trip and the rides and our favorite moments. Harry started his obsession with Toy Story on this trip. Sophie surprised us by NOT wanting to visit all the princesses. Davin and Mady fought hard to not grow up so fast and try and enjoy everthing that Disneyland had to offer. I wish I could take them there tomorrow. As hard as vacations can be, the work, the hassle, the tired kids, all that laundry, the memories are worth it.
